The slug-line of my blog is “Economics and Politics of Education in India.” This should not be surprising. All aspects of education in India are controlled by Government directly or indirectly. Therefore politics is the most substantial ingredient or our socialist coloured educational thinking. We tend to overlook the other political aspect of education and tend to discuss on the reservation and quota. It would be better if if add few more political

Most education in India is Government aided and therefore we also tend to ignore or undermine the real economic aspect of education.

There is no doubt in my mind that any discussion about politics and economics of education will be controversial and provocative. There is no need to shy away. Unless the political and economic aspect of education are thread-bared no real understanding of managing educational institution is possible.
